Oh the places I get to go.

     Nothing could have been more surprising than a phone call I got January 2019.  Two guys saw me in, "We'll Meet Again," and asked to film my speech at the Los Angeles Women's March. They were set up when I arrived. Out furled a red carpet that was just beginning.   
     Months went by and call #2 was to come to L.A. to video an interview. Slowly I understood this was for a documentary, "Still Working 9 to 5."  My part would be to talk about how the original "Working 9 to 5," impacted women, how things had changed or not, and what was the status of the Equal Rights Amendment. 

Flying to Virginia with Jeri Burton (President of Nevada NOW State #36) to see the vote for state #38 to ratify the ERA and meeting Lilly Ledbetter was a dream never imagined.

A day can pass & feel as if nothing happen

 & then one comes along that holds a lifetime. 

Today was such a day.

I am fasting for equality of rights under the law in the U.S.  I am fasting to legislate treating adults without regard to gender.  I am fasting to criminalize discrimination.  But my heart wants so much more. From the Hungry Heart, June 16,1982, Day 30 of the fast.

Fasting for LGBTQ equality in 2010 would not have been possible without the transformative leadership of Zoe Nicholson. The grace, experience and discipleship by which she guides reflects the importance of understanding the deepest levels and purpose of the human story as a fundamental necessity for change. Intersectionality, integral Activism, a matrix of oppression – it all points to a new way of seeing social justice.
